The USA - EU Transatlantic Business Summit, held at the Egmont Palace in Brussels, was an international conference devoted to discussing the future of economic and political cooperation between the United States and the European Union. One of the individuals co-hosting the entire event was Julia Wojtkowski, Executive Secretary of the Polish Youth Association, who served as Co-Master of Ceremony, leading the conference together with Philip Bednarczyk, Director of the Warsaw Office of The German Marshall Fund of the United States. Their responsibilities included introducing the successive panels, presenting the speakers, and ensuring the smooth flow of the program, which brought together representatives of the worlds of business, diplomacy, and academia.

Julia Wojtkowski serves as the Executive Secretary of the Polish Youth Association. She is a graduate of Yale University and a masters student at The London School of Economics and Columbia University, and her work focuses on initiatives related to international cooperation and transatlantic dialogue. Her role in co-hosting one of the most significant events dedicated to relations between the United States and the European Union reflects her engagement at the intersection of academic, business, and diplomatic communities.
The USA - EU Transatlantic Business Summit was organized by the organization Polish & American Women Entrepreneurs, under the leadership of Agata Gołubiewska, and took place in the context of preparations for the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States. The event gathered political decision-makers, business leaders, experts, and representatives of international organizations who met in Brussels to discuss the future of transatlantic cooperation in the face of evolving economic and geopolitical realities.
The conference program featured numerous panel discussions and expert conversations addressing the most pressing challenges facing the United States and the European Union. Topics included changes in global trade and geopolitics, the competitiveness of the European economy, the development of innovation, and strategies for strengthening economic growth on both sides of the Atlantic. Participants also discussed industrial policy, energy security, strategic raw materials, the climate transition, and the future of cooperation in the fields of security and defense.
The conference was attended by representatives of European institutions, business communities, and international experts. The event was attended by European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, while a special keynote address was delivered by Rosie Rios, Chair of the America250 initiative and former Treasurer of the United States, who spoke about the significance of 250 years of American statehood and the enduring strength of the partnership between the United States and Europe.

An important theme of the event was also the role of women-led enterprises in strengthening international cooperation and their impact on shaping modern business culture on both sides of the Atlantic. The organizers emphasized the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in addressing new economic challenges, changes in global supply chains, and the growing role of industrial policy. During one of the panels, speakers noted that countries such as Poland are home to highly skilled professionals, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative ideas that support continued growth and development. At the same time, it was observed that the legal and institutional environment in the United States often enables new business initiatives to be introduced and scaled more rapidly, whereas the more extensive regulatory frameworks of the European Union can sometimes slow the pace of implementation. The discussion also highlighted the increasingly important role of Polish diaspora communities. Active on both sides of the Atlantic, they are uniquely positioned to connect European entrepreneurship with the opportunities and resources of the American market, thereby strengthening transatlantic economic cooperation.
The conference in Brussels also created space for discussion about the growing importance of the countries of Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe within the economy of the European Union and in transatlantic relations. This region is increasingly playing a significant role in areas such as industrial production, energy infrastructure, and logistics, making it an important partner in discussions about the future of economic cooperation between Europe and the United States.
Julia Wojtkowski’s participation in co-hosting this international event highlights the growing engagement of the young generation of the Polish diaspora in initiatives of global significance. For the community of the Polish Youth Association, this is both a great distinction and a powerful example of young leaders actively contributing to the transatlantic dialogue. We extend our sincere congratulations to Julia Wojtkowski and wish her continued success, along with many future initiatives that will further strengthen the presence and voice of Polish diaspora youth on the international stage!
